WASHINGTON → NIAMEY
The United States has approved $414m for Global Atomic's Dasa project in Niger, described as Africa's highest-grade uranium deposit, two years after American troops were pushed out of the country. The money lands in a jurisdiction where Western majors spent 2024 and 2025 writing down permits, and it arrives as a financing package rather than a diplomatic one, which tells you how the yellowcake supply map is being redrawn: Washington is buying tonnes, not influence, and it is willing to sign with a government it has no soldiers near. For anyone pricing Sahel country risk into offtake terms, the number to argue from is 414. Niamey's leverage on every subsequent mining negotiation just improved.
REFINERY GATE → WING TANK
Crude fell and the middle of the barrel did not follow it down. Brent settled at $102.78 a barrel, 2.7% lower, gasoline dropped 4.7% to $3.1604 a gallon, and ULSD held $1,515 a tonne ($4.8409 a gallon, down 2.4%), leaving distillate cracks as the strongest thing on the screen. US airline fares rose 23% in August with demand intact, and carriers have started trimming winter schedules because jet fuel is eating the profit on the marginal flight. Russia's seaborne product exports rose 16.4% in August over July, which is the only meaningful new supply the distillate market has been handed.
ODESA → CONSTANȚA
Wheat closed at 723.75 cents a bushel, up 2.4%, or $266 a tonne. The International Grains Council cut its production estimate while its grains and oilseeds index sits 20% above last year, the combination that keeps origination desks awake. Ukrainian wheat is losing share to expensive freight and to its own corn crop, Romanian port routing gets harder from October, and Russian strikes have damaged a rail bridge the railway operator calls central to grain exports. Türkiye has put a proposal to Moscow and Kyiv to stop attacks on civilian vessels, which would do more for Black Sea war-risk premia than any of the tonnage revisions.
WONARAH → HEBANG
Avenira has signed a four-year offtake for 500,000 wet tonnes a year of direct shipping ore from Wonarah in the Northern Territory with Hebang Biotechnology's Hong Kong arm, covering more than 80% of the project's expected 600,000 tpy. Hebang becomes exclusive distributor in mainland China so long as it lifts 90% of the available quantity each year, and Avenira keeps the right to chase better third-party offers outside China subject to a match. Conditions precedent, including product qualification and shareholder approvals, run to 30 September 2027. Phosphate buyers get another Australian tonne aimed at China while DAP sits at $800 a tonne, unchanged again.

A study of live e-commerce storefronts found eight malicious payloads running in production traffic, of which seven had zero detections on VirusTotal and none were flagged by URLScan; machine-learning inspection of the client-side script caught all eight. The four operations covered affiliate hijacking, invisible iframes, remote JavaScript backdoors and analytics silencing, which is the quiet end of fraud: skimming referral revenue and blinding the merchant's own reporting rather than stealing cards outright. Any trading company running a payment page is in the sample.
