SABIC Agri-Nutrients has picked a urea technology package worth about €125 million for two 3,850 tonne-per-day units at Al Jubail.
MAIRE's Nextchem, licensing through Stamicarbon, takes the process design package and proprietary equipment for SAN-7, a grassroots complex whose two trains give 7,700 tonnes a day of urea when both run. That is roughly 2.8 million tonnes a year of new Gulf nitrogen aimed at export berths, decided in a week when the urea screen moved 0.5% to 453 USD/t and has spent the month inside a ten-dollar band. Technology awards are the earliest honest signal of where 2029 tonnes come from, and this one says Al Jubail.
Washington bought 10% of Trilogy Metals for $35.6 million and put $150 million behind a tungsten restart in the same 48 hours.
The Trilogy cheque advances the Arctic copper-zinc project and the Ambler access road that would carry it, and it lands beside a $35.6-million equity position in a company whose asset has no road yet. The Pentagon's Blue Moon money and a new Almonty venture in Rwanda point the same way: equity and offtake instead of grants, tungsten and copper instead of speeches. COMEX copper eased 0.5% to 6.4325 USD/lb, 14,181 USD/t, which is not the number moving these decisions.
Brent fell 4.8% to $102.49 and RBOB gasoline dropped 5.2% to 3.2154 USD/gal.
The whole barrel came off, with Brent at 102.49 USD/bbl, 776 USD/t, and diesel the stubborn one at 5.001 USD/gal, 1,565 USD/t, down only 1.1%. Gasoline now prints 1,148 USD/t against gasoil's 1,565, a spread of 417 USD/t that flatters anyone lifting mogas cargoes into East Africa and punishes nobody holding gasoil. Sugar joined the retreat at 17.98 USc/lb, 396 USD/t, down 4.0%.
Pakistan's sugar mills rejected a 200,000-tonne export quota and asked for one million tonnes.
The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association wants five times the allowance the federal government approved, arguing surplus stocks justify a full million tonnes of exports. Any quota expansion arrives into a market already soft, with world sugar down 4.0% on the session and Egypt's 2025 exports totalling 581,000 tonnes for $290 million, a reminder of how quickly regional sellers fill a gap when Karachi is allowed out.
The Baltic Dry Index lost 85 points to 3,360, its third straight fall and the lowest since 2 September.
